The Terra Salina network
The Terra Salina network is a group of different saltworks in Switzerland and France that has been created to develop salt tourism across the border.
It is built around the former roads which were used to carry salt between Franche-Comté and Switzerland. Along the way, the historical salt production's sites and the storage places make the travelers understand this business that made out mountains live throughout centuries.
On the road, you will discover four places : the Great Saline of Salins-les-Bains, the Royal Saline of Arc-et-Senans (both in France), the Saltmines of Bex and the Saltworks of Bâle (both in Switzerland). Both of these Swiss factories are still producing salt.
